[Early in the afternoon Steve shows up at Clint's apartment, arms full of bags of snacks and stuff he picked up before coming over. Clint had invited him over a few days before and he hadn't thought to ask what he should bring. After all it's rude to show up empty handed, right? And maybe the different options would make up for the last time he'd shown up out of the blue.

Shifting the bags in his arms, he reaches out and knocks on the door.]

[The storm thankfully hasn't caused too much damage and he'd actually managed to get some sleep after Adele had left at... whatever ridiculous time of night it had been. Maybe talking about it even a little wasn't such a bad idea.

He's certainly feeling a little more relaxed when the knock on the door comes, and he doesn't actually draw a gun before he answers the door.

He's a little surprised to see Steve there but it's not an unpleasant one.]

Captain... Steve, hey. Come in.

[He takes in Clint's surprise and raises a brow. Maybe he should have contacted him on the journal before coming over instead of assuming he'd want company after all the chaos yesterday.]

Hi. I came to take you up on your offer to play darts. Is this a bad time?

[He smiles and shakes his head, reaching to take one of the grocery bags.]

No, it's fine. I'd love to.

[He shifts the bag over to give Clint a better hold on the bag.]

Alright, great. I hasn't sure what you would like so I just grabbed a bunch of stuff.

[He grabs the bag, hefting it without too much trouble and closes the door behind them.]

Sounds good to me. I've never been a picky eater.

Can I get you a drink?

Yeah, sure. A soda is fine. Or some water. Whatever you've got.

[He moves into the apartment and stands in the middle of the front room.]

Where do you want these?

[He sets the bag down on the table in the lounge.]

Just put it there unless you've got anything that needs to be cold. I'll be back in a minute.

[He heads into the kitchen and returns with a can of soda for each of them.]

How are you?

[He sets the things on the table as he's told. All the things he brought would be fine at room temperature so he just leaves it all in the bags.

When Clint returns, he accepts the soda gratefully and takes a seat at the table.]

I've been okay. Despite all the crazy things that have been happening. But that's average in this place.

How are you adjusting?

[Clint goes to sit down nearby, opening his soda and taking a drink.]

Average huh? Can't wait to see what it's like when we have a really exciting week.

I'm doing fine now. Been getting a good deal of practice in too. Working on a program at the Battle Dome.

[Steve grins a little before opening his own and taking a drink.]

Yeah, the Battle Dome is a great place for that. It took awhile for me to get used to the place, but the technology isn't all that difficult to use.

Didn't peg you for a superstitious man.

[He smiles easily at Steve.]

It's good to use. Better practice than shooting at trees 'cause trees are really boring targets.

I'm not usually. But you can't be too careful with this place.

[He sets his soda down on the table.]

I can imagine. Have you tried playing target practice with virtual opponents yet?

I think I liked my life before superstition was a valid coping mechanism.

[Before gods and monsters and magic.]

Working on a sniping program, yeah, although getting the variables right is tough. And I've tried a couple of the combat sims. Pretty impressive.

Didn't we all?

[That perks his interest and he listens curiously.] Really? Let me know when you get it done. I have a friend who might be interested in something like that.

Barnes, right?

[He smiles slightly.]

We met a couple of days ago while I was working on it. Tried it out.

Played sniper tag.

[He's surprised at first, but it fades quickly. It's not that surprising that they've met.]

Well, good. You can just tell him yourself then.

[He smiles.]

Sniper tag, huh? Who won?

I will. He's a damn good shot.

We got bored with the simulation so we took turns shooting at each other. I think we eventually called it a draw because neither of us had kept count.

Well, from the lack of recent wounds on either of you, I'm guessing there were more misses than hits?

We had the safety on in the Dome. Wasn't going to risk it. Few bruises, that's all. Was a good workout though.

I'm sure.

[He takes another drink before standing up.]

So, you want to start a round of darts?

[Clint pushes himself to his feet and grabs the pack of darts that he'd managed to get.]

Sure. Want me to have a handicap?

[Steve raises a brow at that. He knows Clint only meant that as a way to even the odds, but he couldn't help taking it as a challenge. His aim isn't too bad either.]

You're really that sure of yourself, aren't you?

[He grins at that and shrugs.]

When it comes to things that require me to throw or shoot things at a target, absolutely.

I throw knives too.

You have quite the resume.

[His tone is teasing, disguising the part of him that's actually impressed.]

No handicap. I'll take my chances. I'm not to bad at throwing things at targets either.
