The world needs all kinds of people. I do what's necessary, even if it's dirty. Someone needs to dream of better things.

[It was that kind of person that he fought to keep safe in the end. He gave a warm laugh at that, ducking his head when she ruffles his hair.]

And I'm Hawkeye who never misses. And Agent Barton. And then sometimes I'm just Clint.

Clint, if you are going to start saying that again, maybe I'll just have to take extra care to dream more. I may be a fool with her head in the clouds, but I'm a fool who can rock the pillars of Heaven. Perhaps one day, you'll be able to be the dreamer too.

[She kisses him then, still smiling. And stupidly smitten.]

And...Hawkeye, you've certainly scored a clean shot on me. Agent Barton has too. But all three of you hit the mark. I couldn't ask for a sweeter someone to share my dreams with.

Maybe some day, hm? Would be nice.

[He kisses her back, still warm and happy that he seems to have helped, even if he's not entirely sure how.]

I'm just glad that you're feeling better, Saori. I hate seeing people I care for hurt.

[He probably wouldn't believe her if she told him.]

Someday, I'll make it happen.

[She props herself up on one elbow, trailing the silver locket around his chest with a finger]

And I hate seeing people I care for hurt too. Are your ribs well enough for me to stay the night? I want to take care of you, too. And if I'm here in the morning...well...it'll be easier to pamper you.

[He's pretty sure that she could manage it.]

You don't have to stay on my account but... if you want to, then yeah, my ribs'll be fine. Trust me, this is luxury in comparison to some places I've recovered in.

[She giggles, snuggling up against him and pulling the blanket over them.]

I want to stay. You treated me well, now it's my turn. Besides that, you'll help me sleep. A quiet night together will do us both good.

[He shifts a little, letting her wrap them both up, settling comfortably next to her.]

Yeah, I think so. I haven't slept well in a while. At least since before I went on the mission.

Well then it'll be good for both of us. I know I sleep better with someone to cuddle.

[She nuzzles happily]

[He laughs softly at that, and he does feel more relaxed. It's nice. When he speaks, it's with a teasing tone.]

Oh, I see how it is. You just want a teddy bear, hm?

Oh like you mind.

[Just as teasing]

Terribly. I don't know how I'll survive such torment.

[He grins and kisses her hair again, enjoying the light teasing.]

Somehow I think you're resilient enough to accept my cuddling.

[She laughs]

I did literally bare my soul to you.

Well, I guess I am made of tough stuff. I'm sure I'll manage.

[Her laughter is infectious.]

You did. I'm honoured.

Good! I'd hate to think I broke my favorite teddy bear with a hug.

[Still laughing, but with a more gentle squeeze attached]

I'm glad you are. You'd be a bad Champion otherwise.

I think I could get used to holding that position.

Champion... now there's a title. I feel like I should be riding around with a sword or something.

And if you want a sword...I can get you one. You agreed to it, though. And it makes more sense for you to use your bow. I'm better with a sword than you. [Sticks out her tongue]

Good, because it's freezing outside right now.

[He laughs softly at that and shakes his head.]

No, I'll stick with my bow. I can use a sword, kind of, but it's been a long time since I tried. I'd probably cut my fingers off.

Well, that's part of why I'm snuggling with you, isn't it?

That would be the reason. On top of my charm, wit and grace, I'd hope.

Oh? Sword fighting. I admit, I've been thinking of picking up a few other things. Been working on old circus skills.

Were you in the circus? Then that might make it even easier to teach you how to really fight...

Yeah, I was in the circus. Ran away with my brother and joined up when I was eleven or so. It's where I learned to shoot.

[She tweaks his nose]

You ran away to join the circus. Are you any good at acrobatics?

[He grins and winks teasingly at her.]

[She kisses him on the cheek, winking right back.]

And if you're an acrobat, that'll make my training a little easier on you.

Should I be worried? Gotta admit, been a while since normal training at home was much of a challenge.
