"Seriously? I take one day off and suddenly I'm lazy? I see how it is," he says, but he can feel the smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. "Lucky is just as excited about taking a nap in the afternoon too y'know. Or being fed. Or someone arriving."

Natasha laughs and straightens up, her hand still resting fondly atop Lucky's head. "Sounds like someone else I know," she teases him, impish humor in her gaze as she cocks her head at him, grinning. "Ready, slowpoke?"

"Wow. You are such a charmer there, Tasha," he says, giving her an amused look, and yeah, that smile is pretty firmly stuck in place right now. "Ready when you are, Slowbro."

"Aren't I though?" she countered, bumping her shoulder playfully against his. It's good to see him smiling. "I'm always ready. Whether or not you can keep up is another matter entirely. Come on, boy," she called, starting off at a jog, although the playful look she tossed over her shoulder left it up to him if she was talking to the dog or not.

He snorted softly, bumping back, and easy, comfortable gesture. "Oh? Is that it? A challenge? Fine. Dog stealing fiend!" And he set back off after her at a jog, catching up without too much trouble.

"Can't steal the willing," was her sing-song answer, her grin audible as she found a comfortable pace, knew he'd have no trouble matching it. It wasn't far to the tunnels - not really much of a work out, by their standards, but he could use the fresh air and a change of scenery to keep from brooding. He tended to do that. It was a terrible habit she kept trying to break him of.

He laughs as he chases her, heading out towards the tunnels after her. They easily fall into step, as though nothing has changed between them. It's nice. Normal even and he enjoys it. There's nothing but the rhythm of their feet, equally matched.

"See? Not even you can argue with it," she shoots over at him, flashing a grin as the dog keeps pace with them, dashes ahead.

"So. Have you been to this beach before?"

"I didn't think it deserved the dignity of an answer," Clint replies with a smirk, laughing softly as Lucky dashes ahead.

"No. I haven't actually. Never made it that far out."

"That or I've actually succeeded in knocking you speechless for once. Will wonders never cease?" she countered, laughter in her voice as they head for the plaza.

"I wouldn't be too sure about that," Clint said with some amusement. "Didn't take you for a dreamer, Tasha."

"Boredom inspires new hobbies everywhere lately, it seems," she teases him, giving him a playful shove as they neared the plaza. It was already a warm morning, and promising to get moreso. The beach would be a nice break.

...She couldn't actually remember the last time she relaxed on a beach somewhere that wasn't part of a cover or an assignment.

"Apparently so. Never took you for a shopkeeper either." And yet here she is with a coffee shop.

He heads over towards the entrance to the tunnels, speeding ahead a little.

She follows, hoping he knows where he's going. Not that this would be the first time he's gotten them lost, but she's mostly alright with that too.

"That one I'm more likely to blame on momentary insanity than boredom," she countered dryly. "Am I allowed to claim it as my midlife crisis since it happened on my birthday?"

He's pretty sure he knows where he's going, or at least that it will be enjoyable trying to find their way. "I'm not sure whether you want me to say you're much too young for a mid-life crisis, or way past that point, sweetheart. So I will plead the fifth."

"Either one would have likely gotten you smacked. Smart choice," she scoffed, humor in her tone as she follows him into the tunnels. Her pace slows as she takes in her surroundings with a wary look, always on the alert when she comes in here. Just in case.

"I have my moments," Clint replied with a grin. "I think it might be fun at least. People watching."

She gives an amused hum of acknowledgement and agreement as she flicks a sideways glance at him as they continue in deeper where the teleporters are located.

"Well, we certainly have plenty of those interesting enough to be entertaining around here."

"Ah man, it actually takes the fun out of the game if the real stories are weirder than anything we can come up with," Clint replies with a heavy sigh.

"You'll just have to start upping your game, Barton," she teased back, coming to a halt as they came to an open chamber. "Well. This looks about right."

"I can't even use 'survived an alien invasion' anymore. This Avengers stuff just ruins all the best crazy stories." He grinned though, glancing around and nodding. "Looks like."

"Sure you can. You're good at embellishing," she shot back as she approached the teleporters. Lucky was already sniffing around the base of it curiously. She glanced back at Clint and held a hand out to him in invitation.

"Ready?"

"Did I just get called a good liar? Aww, I'm flattered," Clint replied, nudging her and then heading over to his dog to clip on his leash.

He grinned and took her hand when it was offered. "Yeah. I'm ready."

"You should be," she retorted teasingly, taking his hand and giving a tug before stepping into the teleporter. "Well. Here goes nothing."

However it worked - which she cared not to think too much about, exactly - the machine did the trick. one moment they were in the darkened tunnels below the plaza and the next they were standing on the beach, no town in sight. She blinked, shading her face with her hand until her eyes adjusted to the sudden brightness.

"Okay, that is weird," Clint muttered when they arrived on the other side of the teleporter. It left him a little dizzy feeling, so used to being able to rely on his sense of direction. He blinked a few times until everything came into focus. "Well, it worked. I think."
